From massages to facials, there is no better way to spoil your mom than with a spa day and there are no shortage of amazing local spas for you to choose from. Dia Feliz Spa at the Cliffs Resort just underwent large scale renovation and features a wonderful selection of treatments including massages, facials, manicures, pedicures and more. We recommend the Rejuvenating Package to truly help your mom relax. It includes a Zen Massage, a Custom Facial, and a Noni Healing Body Wrap. Sycamore Mineral Springs also has an amazing spa and yoga dome. Every massage or spa package includes a 30 minute soak in the healing mineral waters prior to each treatment. A great option to treat mom would be the Day Away Package which includes a soak in a Mineral Spring Hot Tub, a 50 minute Massage or Facial, a 60 minute Yoga, Pilates or Tai Chi Class, and brunch at the Gardens of Avila Restaurant.

2. Take Her on a Guided Wine Tour

If your mom enjoys local wine, then SLO County is the perfect place to take her. San Luis Obispo boasts an authentic wine region and is comprised of the Edna Valley, Arroyo Grande Valley and Avila Valley. The smallest Central Coast Wine AVA in size but certainly not in the quality or character of its wine. SLO is dominated by small, family-owned wineries well known for their hand-crafted bottlings of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as cool climate Rhone varieties. The region is a favorite of locals and visitors alike, and has earned worldwide recognition and respect for the exceptional quality of wine produced here. Breakaway Tours offers shared or private wine tours of this region including visits to at least 4 wineries, a picnic lunch, and friendly, knowledgeable guides. There is no better way to explore our wine region and really “taste” the SLO life.

3. Bring out Her Inner Artist

If your mom is the artistic type, SeaVenture Beach Resort has Art Parties every other Tuesday. They provide all of the supplies needed to create your masterpiece: Canvas, paint, brushes, sponges, and aprons. You just bring your mom and your creativity and you are set. Book your seats early as they do sell out! Another great option is Art Bar SLO. Now located inside The Station SLO, an Art Bar evening includes a canvas that you will take home, paints to use during the workshop, instruction from the featured artist and a glass of wine for $35 per person. Workshops are held on Saturdays and Sundays and sell out quickly. Be sure to book early for best availability. Let your creative juices flow and enjoy some quality time with your mom!
